World-Class Training and Experience

Our surgeons have trained at world-renowned centres across the globe including Bristol Eye Hospital in the UK, Moorfields Eye Hospital, Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital & University Hospital Southampton Foundation NHS Trust.

Leaders in Ophthalmology

Our dedication to excellence is recognised by appointments to key governing roles, including Censor-in-Chief at the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology. We are committed to not only meeting ophthalmology standards but redefining them.

Access To Advanced Technologies

Our position at the forefront of new and emerging technologies in ophthalmology means we often have exclusive access to new technologies that aren't available anywhere else.

Cultural Competency and Inclusivity

Tailored care meets the unique cultural and individual needs of every patient, creating an environment of mutual respect and inclusivity. Beyond clinical excellence, we focus on cultural competency, respecting tikanga guidelines, and meeting the unique requirements of low-vision, elderly, and frail patients.

Highly Trained Clinic & Theatre Teams

Our highly trained clinic and theatre teams, including nurses, technicians, and surgeons, work together to deliver the best in patient-centred care. Staff are continually upskilled through comprehensive training, accreditations, continuing professional development and cultural competency programmes to meet the highest standards.

Our team leaders continuously ensure that our staff remain fully trained, accredited, and aligned with the highest standards set by Southern Cross and the Designated Audit Agency (DAA).

What to Expect as a Surgical Patient

At our clinic, we design the patient journey to provide a connected, compassionate experience. Here’s what a typical day looks like for our surgical patients:

Warm Welcome

You’ll be greeted warmly by our reception staff upon arrival. They’ll guide you through the check-in process and ensure you're comfortable.

Pre-Surgery Preparation

Our nursing team will complete pre-surgery protocols, including finalising paperwork and preparing you for your procedure. They’ll also make sure you’re relaxed and informed.

Meeting Your Surgeon

Before the surgery, your surgeon will go over the procedure again, ensuring all your concerns are addressed.

The Procedure

Your surgery will be performed in our state-of-the-art operating facilities using advanced technology to maximise precision and safety. For your comfort, most procedures are conducted under local anesthesia.

Post-Surgery Recovery

After your procedure, our recovery team will monitor you closely to ensure everything is on track. Before you leave, we’ll provide detailed aftercare instructions and set your follow-up appointment.
